Toronto, Canada – GAO Comm recommends its portable visual fault locator, a 650nm visible laser source with an output power of 1.8mW. The visual fault locator detects broken or serious bend points in fiber optic cables and identifies fiber in ribbon or bundled fiber optic pigtails in installations where identifying a fiber from end to end may be troublesome or time-consuming. It is an ideal tool for engineers and technicians working in fiber optic networks, telecommunication and CATV maintenance.
The smart visual fault locator, model 08511, locates faults at a distance of up to 5km from the source. It has an FC adapter compatible with SC and ST connectors without the need for any other type of adapter. The energy-saving design allows this fault locator to work continuously for twenty-five hours on a single charge, and it automatically shuts down when there’s no action within 10 minutes. In addition, the high durability, portability and efficient design make it an invaluable instrument for field use.
